SkillIt ("SkillIt," "we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile application that connects individuals seeking services ("Users") with independent professional service providers ("Professionals"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Policy.
a. Account Information. When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and password. You may also sign in using Google Sign-In, in which case we receive your name and email address from Google.
b. Profile Information — Users. Phone number, profile photo, and one or more saved addresses, which may include GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude), flat/unit number, and landmark details.
Profile Information — Professionals. Full name, service title, bio/description, years of experience, service category/subcategory, contact phone and email, business/service-area address(es) with GPS coordinates, and up to five profile photos.
c. Photos and Media. User profile photos and service-listing photos are uploaded to our secure cloud storage. Professional profile photos are stored as encoded image data within our database.
d. Location Information. With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location data to show you nearby services and improve search accuracy. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings, though some features may not function properly without it.
e. Communications. Messages you send through our in-app chat feature are stored so that conversations can be delivered and displayed to both participants.
f. Reviews and Ratings. If you leave a review for a Professional, we collect and display your name, optional profile photo, rating, and review text. Reviews are moderated and may be approved, hidden, or replied to by SkillIt.
g. Push Notification Data. We use [FILL IN: name your push provider, e.g. "Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)"] to deliver alerts (e.g., new messages, approval status updates). This involves collecting a device push-notification token.
h. Automatically Collected Information. Standard technical information necessary for app functionality and security (e.g., device identifiers used by our infrastructure provider for push delivery and app integrity checks).
SkillIt does not process or store payment card numbers, bank account details, or government ID/KYC documents. We do not use third-party advertising networks or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
We use your information to: create and manage your account; connect Users with Professionals; display Professional profiles, service listings, and reviews to other Users; enable in-app chat between Users and Professionals; send push notifications relevant to your account or conversations; review and approve Professional accounts; and maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
Certain information is inherently public within the marketplace: Professional profile details (name, photos, bio, experience, category, service area) and reviews/ratings are visible to other Users browsing the platform. Private account details (email, password, exact saved addresses) are not publicly displayed.

SkillIt does not provide in-app payment processing. Any payment for services is arranged and completed directly between the User and the Professional, outside the App. SkillIt is not responsible for and does not process, store, or have access to any payment or financial information exchanged between Users and Professionals.

Where data is processed outside your country of residence, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account remains active. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required under applicable law.
SkillIt is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
