By creating an account or using the SkillIt mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
SkillIt is a marketplace platform that connects Users seeking services with independent Professionals who offer those services. SkillIt acts solely as an intermediary/platform and is not a party to any agreement, transaction, or dispute between a User and a Professional.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use the App. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. Eligibility (age) is self-declared by the User at sign-up; SkillIt does not independently verify age or identity.
The App supports two account types: User accounts, for individuals seeking services, and Professional accounts, for independent service providers, subject to admin review and approval before the profile becomes publicly visible. SkillIt reserves the right to approve, reject, or remove any Professional profile at its sole discretion. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
SkillIt does not employ, supervise, or guarantee the work, licensing, insurance, or conduct of any Professional listed on the platform. SkillIt does not conduct background checks, license verification, or identity verification of Professionals unless explicitly stated on a Professional's profile [FILL IN: describe your actual verification process, if any — e.g. "phone number verification only" or "ID and address verification for approved Professionals"]. Users engage Professionals at their own discretion and risk. SkillIt is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service performed.
SkillIt does not process, hold, or facilitate payments through the App. All payment terms and transactions are agreed upon and completed directly between the User and the Professional, independent of SkillIt. SkillIt bears no responsibility for payment disputes, non-payment, refunds, or financial loss arising from any transaction between Users and Professionals.
The App provides in-app messaging to facilitate communication between Users and Professionals. You agree to use this feature respectfully and lawfully, and not to send unlawful, abusive, harassing, or fraudulent content.
Users may submit reviews and ratings of Professionals they have engaged with. Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not contain defamatory, abusive, or unlawful content. SkillIt reserves the right to moderate, hide, or remove any review at its discretion.
You agree not to: impersonate any person or entity; post false, misleading, or fraudulent information; harass, abuse, or harm other users; attempt to circumvent the Professional approval process; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
All content, branding, and functionality of the App — excluding content submitted by Users/Professionals, such as profile photos and reviews — are the property of SkillIt and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without permission.
If you believe content on the App (a profile, photo, or review) infringes your rights or violates the law, contact us at [FILL IN: confirm/update this email] helloskillit8@gmail.com with details of the content and your concern. We will review and take appropriate action, which may include removal of the content.
SkillIt may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we deem harmful to the platform, other users, or SkillIt.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkillIt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from services performed by Professionals, disputes between Users and Professionals, or reliance on any content within the App.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SkillIt, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other Users or Professionals.
SkillIt shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, internet or infrastructure outages, government action, or pandemics.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [FILL IN: your city, e.g. Bengaluru], India.
